How to get neurodevelopmental help

Help and support can mean many different things. For example, help might be a fellow parent/carer or an extended family member giving a suggestion on how to encourage a child to settle at night, a leaflet you read or a video you watch on supporting your child’s language skills or a professional you may go to see to understand and support a child’s mental health. All of these are accessing help and support.

Neurodevelopmental needs

Needs can change over time. The impact of a neurodevelopmental need can be influenced by two key things: the people around a child/young person and the environment that they are in. Making adjustments to the environment as well as how people interact can be the difference. These two key principles guide the information in these support pages.
