Sign in or register for an accountLinnyshaw Loopline is a walking and cycling route between Little Hulton and Walkden. Linking to Roe Green Loopline at its western point and the A6 in the east, the route crosses two major public open spaces - Ashton's Field and Blackleach Country Park.
Until recently most of the route was in very poor condition with some sections suffering severe flooding in winter. The section between Roe Green Loopline and Blackleach Country Park was improved in 2016 including a new three metre shared use path, accessible entrances, improved crossing points at Cleggs Lane and Worsley Road North, drainage works and new signs.
The improved section of Linnyshaw Loopline is now a safe, pleasant and attractive route for leisure and commuting.
Work to improve Linnyshaw Loopline between Blackleach Country Park and the A6 is underway and should be complete by the end of the year. Once these works are complete, the whole of the Loopline network will have been improved to the same high standard.
Plans showing the improvements can be downloaded at the bottom of this page.
TfGM have produced comprehensive cycle maps of the city, available on the TfGM website. Or you can see the Linnyshaw Loopline on Google maps.
