The health protection team supports schools and early years with outbreak management and infection prevention and control (IPC) in the following ways:

  • The team at Salford offers quality assurance through audits of nurseries and children’s day care services when required
  • Outbreak management of infections for schools/nurseries 
  • Support with other infectious diseases, including advice on exclusion periods for certain infections to prevent spread.
  • Training/education on key aspects of IPC such as:
    • Good hand hygiene
    • Environmental Cleaning
