Sign in or register for an accountA premises licence is required to authorise the use of a premises for licensable activities. This includes the sale or supply of alcohol, the provision of regulated entertainment and the provision of late-night refreshment (the provision of hot food or drink between 11pm and 5am). These regulations are made under the Licensing Act 2003.

Although the city council has a duty to administer applications, that duty does not extend to the provision of pre-submission advice and assistance to the applicant.
Applicants may wish to seek advice from a licensing consultant, particularly in respect of complex applications.
The licensing service is happy to consider requests for advice and support and will accommodate where possible. Requests can be made to the licensing service by email – licensing@salford.gov.uk.
In-depth advice and support would be charged on a cost recovery basis of £70 per hour and a cost for support can be confirmed at point of enquiry, for consideration.
