Additional job help and support for residents

If you have recently lost your job and need another role as a temporary stop gap, there are lots of opportunities out there.

A new website, Employ GM connects employers* who have urgent temporary vacancies with individuals across Greater Manchester, who are available to start working straight away during the Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic. 

Local authorities in Greater Manchester are recruiting to key worker roles, from health and social care to catering and cleaning. Visit Greater Jobs to find out how you can help your community at this difficult time.

On a more national level, the BBC have highlighted the supermarkets and other organisations who need to urgently recruit during the coronavirus crisis. There is also a new website from Jobcentre Plus to help support people looking for a new role to help keep the country running.

* Employers will need to commit that they are complying with PHE guidelines in particular social distancing, and making appropriate personal hygiene facilities available to employees.

Virtual Jobclub

Support with employment, training and related advice is still available during this coronavirus shutdown period. To help with this, Salford Housing Associations Employment Support partnership are operating a virtual job club through personalised, individual telephone interviews.

Help for 16 to 24 year olds

Employment and training advice for 16 to 24-year olds is available through Salford Connexions Service delivered by Career Connect continue to provide support to young people and their parents via telephone and digital channels
