Funding to cover the cost of apprenticeship training for a new member of staff

If you want to apply for funding to cover the cost of provision of apprenticeship training for an apprentice role you need to meet the following criteria:

  • The apprentice must be a Salford resident
  • The organisation must have less than 250 employees
  • The organisation must have a Salford business address
  • The salary must be the National Living Wage rate (for 23 and over)*

*Employer must pay at least the ‘National Living Wage for 23 years of age +’ to all its employees regardless of age (from April 2023 this is £10.42 per hour).

Funding will be prioritised to:

  • Priority groups: those not in employment, education or training; looked after children; special educational needs and disabilities; Salford futures; young offender; benefit claimants 18+
  • Key sectors: including health, social care, education, digital, construction, hospitality, business and professional services

All funding is subject to the fund partners having sufficient levy transfer allowance to cover full training costs over the forecasted duration of the apprenticeship.

If you want to apply for funding to cover the cost of provision of apprenticeship training for your existing workforce you need to meet the following criteria: 

  • The organisation must have less than 250 employees
  • The organisation must have a Salford business address
  • The salary must be the national living wage rate (for 23 and over)*

*Employer must pay at least the ‘National Living Wage for 23 years of age +’ to all its employees regardless of age (from April 2023 this is £10.42 per hour).
