Sign in or register for an accountA scheduled monument is a historic building or site of national archaeological significance that is included in the Schedule of Monuments kept by the Secretary of State for Culture, Media and Sport.
The Ancient Monuments and Archaeological Areas Act 1979, supports a formal system of scheduled monument consent for any work to a designated monument, whether above or below ground level. Applications for scheduled monument consent should be made to English Heritage and not Salford City Council.
