Considering a school for your child for the first time or on transfer from primary to secondary school is very important.
The information in this section is intended to help you through this process. However, you will still probably want to arrange a visit to see the schools that you're considering.
Some schools will have open days or open evenings usually held during the autumn term, but all schools welcome enquiries at any time of the year and headteachers will be happy to make arrangements for you to visit.
All schools are regularly inspected by Ofsted. Many parents find this information useful when deciding on a school for their child. For more information on the new Ofsted inspection framework, please visit the Ofsted website.
