The interactive mapping system calculates the distance from your home address to your preferred school in a straight line distance using LLPG (Local Land and Property Gazetteer) information to measure the distance between the address point (including flats) and the centre point of the school/academy in miles.
Using the search for address function (picture of the magnifying glass) you need to enter your post code and then click on your home address, then click on the school finder button and this will then bring up a list of all the Salford Schools and the distance to your home address in miles.
Using the previous year’s allocations data the distance calculated will give you an indication as to the likelihood of your child being allocated a place at one of your preferred schools.
