Medical needs

For community and voluntary controlled schools, please note that these schools no longer have medical criterion within the oversubscription criteria.

For academies and voluntary aided schools (voluntary aided schools include all Roman Catholic schools and some Church of England schools), you will need to produce evidence of your child's medical needs from your child's consultant or specialist. You must check the school's admission policy to confirm exactly what is required.

Some academies and voluntary aided schools will also take into account needs of family members. You should check the school's admission policy carefully to confirm exactly what will be considered by each school.

It is the responsibility of the parent to ensure appropriate medical evidence for all schools is completed by their medical practitioner and returned to the school concerned if they are requesting their child's admission under this criterion.
