Public Health Inequalities Improvement Team

The eight members of the Public Health Inequalities Improvement Team

The Public Health Inequalities Improvement Team act as influencers of change through their project-based work to reduce health inequalities in Salford.

The team uses a range of Public Health approaches aimed at helping more communities access health and wellbeing services. The work includes projects focused on priority and specific health inclusion groups, underserved and unknown communities. This work aligns with the Mayor's Corporate Plan 2024 to 2028 and the city's equality strategy to tackle health inequalities and provide the best possible care for the people of Salford.

The Public Health Inequalities Improvement Team Responsibilities include:

The responsibilities of the inequalities team: gather insights and intelligence; enable and improve access; health inequality improvement

Gather insight and intelligence: Deep dive into the systems unknowns, build trusted relationships with emerging and underserved communities. Collect actionable insights to inform system change.

Improve health inequality: Use Quality Improvement (QI) techniques to work in partnership to reduce health inequalities and co-produce solutions.

Enable and improve access: Build, develop and sustain trusted relationships and partnerships. For example, test new and innovative ideas that better meet the health needs of Salford's underserved communities. Especially those who do not currently access services or find them hard to reach.
