Land at Hill Top Road, Walkden

Notice of intention to dispose of open space land 

Local Government Act 1972 Section 123(1), (2A)

Notice is hereby given that Salford City Council intends to dispose of open space land having a total
area of approximately 0.679 hectares located at Hill Top Road in Walkden. The disposal of the land will be by way of the grant of:

  • a 999 year lease to Redwater Developments Ltd of the land shaded green on the deposited
    plan (being 0.501 hectares) principally for an attenuation pond to serve the proposed adjacent
    residential development;
  • a drainage easement under the land shaded blue on the deposited plan (being 0.091 hectares) to serve the proposed adjacent residential development;
  • a right of access and use of proposed car parking on land shaded pink on the deposited plan
    (being 0.066 hectares) to serve adjoining sports pitches and cricket club and;
  • a supplemental lease to Walkden Cricket Club until 23 June 2065, of the land shaded red on the
    deposited plan (being 0.021 hectares) to regularise the occupation boundary.

The land subject to this notice and described above, is more particularly shown edged red on the deposited plan which may be inspected on this page or at Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5AW between 8.30am and 5pm Mondays to Fridays inclusive.

Objections to the intended disposal must be made in writing and sent to Angela Martens, Assistant Principal Development Surveyor, Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, Salford, M27 5AS or by email to: angela.martens@salford.gov.uk so as to be received no later than 18 August 2022.
