Important information: Building regulation fees are changing

New building regulation fees will come into effect on 1 May 2024. The amended scheme and fees can be viewed by downloading the scheme below. Alternatively, copies of the scheme may also be requested by emailing building.control@salford.gov.uk

Different fees or charges will apply depending on the type of work you are undertaking. Guidance notes are provided at the bottom of this page.

New building regulation fees

New regulations mean we have had to reconsider building regulation fees. Service costs have been reviewed and project specific fees developed.

Charges are determined in two ways:

In order to keep costs down, certain basic assumptions have been made such as that your builder is familiar with construction practices and the work is not complex. Extra fees may be charged if your project requires additional support.

Health and safety during your construction works

If you are having construction or refurbishment work done, you may need to notify the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) and you may have other duties also - find out more about having building and construction work done
