Overview

The Salford Local Plan: Development Management Policies and Designations (SLP:DMP) is one of the documents that will form part of the development plan for Salford. It will:

  • Provide the main policies that will be used to manage development and determine planning applications
  • Identify the designations that will protect the city’s most important environmental assets, town centres and infrastructure
  • Support the key delivery of key infrastructure, such as transport and utilities

Four stages of consultation have been undertaken on the Local Plan between 2013 and 2019, details of which can be viewed online.

The Publication Local Plan: Development Management Policies and Designations was published on 27 January 2020. Comments were invited on this until 20 March 2020 and the comments received are available to view online. Some amendments to the Publication Local Plan were proposed through an Addendum which was published on 5 February 2021. Comments were invited on this until 19 March 2021 and are available to view online.

The Publication Salford Local Plan: Development Management Policies and Designations was submitted to the Secretary of State for examination on 30 June 2021.

The submission has been publicised and relevant documents made available in accordance with regulation 22 (3) of the and 35 of The Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) Regulations 2012 and The Town and Country Planning (Local Planning) (England) (Coronavirus) (Amendment) Regulations 2020.
