Join the nationwide effort to clean up our streets, parks, and green spaces! The Great British Spring Clean is back, and we’re calling on everyone in Salford to get involved from Friday 21 March to Sunday 6 April 2025.

Litter harms our environment, wildlife, and communities. By volunteering, you’re not just tidying up - you’re making a lasting impact on Salford. Let’s work together to create a cleaner, greener city that we can all be proud of.
How you can get involved
- Sign up: Become a Salford Litter Hero by signing up to take part. Whether you're an individual, a community group, a school, or a business, your help is invaluable.
- Lend a hand: Join a litter-picking event near you or organise your own with friends, family, or colleagues. Share your efforts using #SalfordCleanUp and inspire others to take action.
- Borrow equipment anytime: Can’t make an event but still want to help? Use one of our litter picking lockers in selected parks! These self-service lockers provide free access to litter pickers and bags, so you can do your bit whenever it suits you
- Equipment provided: The Cleansing Team will supply litter pickers, gloves, and bags for all organised events. If you are interested in arranging your own litter pick, please email streetscene@salford.gov.uk
