Local Authority Safeguarding Teams

It is important to be aware of the local authority safeguarding teams in the event of needing to make a referral where there are concerns about a child/young person/adult or family.

Worried about a child

If you are worried that a child is at immediate risk of harm, call the police or other emergency services on 999.

If you are worried about the welfare or safety of a child, it is very important that you contact Children's Services to share your concerns.

Salford City Council and our partners have a multi-agency hub called the Bridge Partnership that screen all contacts concerning the welfare or safety of a child.

The Bridge Partnership can be contacted by telephone on 0161 603 4500 from 8.30am to 4.30pm. If you need to speak to somebody about your referral of concern outside these hours, please call the Emergency Duty Team on 0161 794 8888.

All referrals and request for Early Help support concerning the welfare or safety of a child must go through the Bridge Partnership via our online portal.

Worried about an adult

If you are worried that an adult is at immediate risk of harm, call the police or other emergency services on 999.

Concerns about abuse or neglect of an adult at risk can be reported to Adult Social Care via the online portal at the following link:

Safeguarding adults

Concerns can also be shared by telephoning 0161 206 0604. Adult Social Care operates between 8.30am and 4.30pm Monday to Friday (excluding bank holidays). If you need to speak to someone outside of these times, please contact the Emergency Duty Team on 0161 794 8888.

Worried about domestic abuse

If you or someone you know is suffering from domestic abuse, please contact Safe in Salford which is the front door for domestic abuse services in Salford.
