The north bound closure is required to enable tram track replacement works to be carried out.

South bound traffic will be maintained at all times.

A road closure will be in effect from Saturday 23 July 2022 for a period of two days on the following section of highway:
The closure is required to enable a mobile crane to be situated adjacent to a new development to erect a tower crane on the site.
Diversions will be signed via Trinity Way, Victoria Street (Manchester) toward Victoria Bridge Street and vice versa for buses only, main stream traffic wishing to travel west bound from Victoria Bridge Street will be diverted via Blackfriars Street.
An overnight road closure will be in effect from 8pm Wednesday 6 July 2022 for a period of up to 12 hours on the following section of highway:
The overnight closure is to enable bi annual bridge inspections to be carried out by Network Rail to their railway bridges and arches.
Diversions will be signed via Chapel Street, west bound and Trinity Way.

Eccles New Road (Emergency Closure)
An emergency east bound road closure, will be in effect from Thursday 16 June for an undetermined period on the following section of highway:
The emergency closure is required to locate and make essential repairs to a number of gas leaks in the area of Gilda Brook Road.
East bound traffic from Gilda Brook toward Stott Lane will be maintained.

Temporary four way signals will be in operation from Wednesday 15 June 2022 for a period of up to 17 days on the following section of highway:
The signals are required to enable the installation of a new high voltage cable to the newest part of Salford University (The Technology Centre).
Minor delays can be expected however the signals will under manual operation during peak periods to further reduce such potential delays.
Night works are due to commence from Sunday 12 June 2022 for a period of fourteen weeks to install a new telecoms cable within the Metrolink tramline. These works should have little or no impact on vehicular traffic and will be unintrusive in regard to noise nuisance. Most of the works will take place during the hours between the last tram of the night and first in the morning.
Further works are due to commence July 2022 during the tram line suspension to replace work sections of the rail line following twenty years of continual use. More details to follow.
An emergency lane closure is currently underway following the exposure of a sink hole on the following section of highway:
During works underway to install a new high voltage cable within the carriageway a large sinkhole was exposed, following investigations it has been determined that the repairs could take up to ten weeks.
Delays may be possible however two way traffic will be now be maintained.
Temporary signals will be in operation from Monday 9 May 2022 for a period of up to eight weeks on the following section of highway:
The signals are required to provide a moving lane closure to install a new gas main as part of a city wide gas main improvement works programme.
Delays can be expected however the signals will be under manual operation during peak periods to further reduce such potential delays.
Works are due to commence from Monday 14 February 2022 for a period of up to six months on the following section of highway:
The works are part of the delivery of the Salford Bolton Network Improvement (SBNI) project to introduce bus lanes along the arterial route network. During the works the use of temporary signals will be required to provide lane closures, when signals are in use they will be monitored during peak periods to maximise traffic flow.
Delays can be expected during these major upgrade works.
A bus lane closure will be in effect from Monday 11 October 2021 for a period of up to 14 months on the following section of highway:
The bus lane closure is required to enable major highway construction works to deliver the Salford Bolton Network Improvement (SBNI) project as part of a city wide scheme to improve bus routes. In addition adhoc overnight lane closures to a second lane will be required.
Delays can be expected.
Trinity Way, Irwell Street junction
Lane closures will be in effect from July 2021 until May 2023 as stated below:
The above stated lane closures are required to enable the development of the land adjacent to the carriageway at the junction.
Delays can be expected during peak periods and motorists are advised to find an alternative route.
Major improvement works are due to commence from Monday 6 July 2020 for a period of up to 27 months on the following section of highway:
Overnight road closures will also come into effect from 9 April 2022 and will be advertised on site in advance as and when they are to be implemented.
The works will be carried out under lane closure at 100 metre intervals, the works are major in nature and will see the introduction of new cycle lanes, lighting, new carriageway layout and new traffic signal layout.
Delays can be expected during these works especially should traffic flows return to pre COVID-19 conditions and on match days at Old Trafford, motorists are advised to find alternative routes at that time.
