Our Gateway centres are ‘one stop shops’ for a wide range of council and community services and facilities.

Located across Salford, they have free internet and are open late every weekday - Monday to Thursday 8am to 10pm, Friday 8am to 6.30pm and Saturday 9am to 1pm. You can find a centre at these locations:

The team can provide support around council tax and housing benefits as well as help you apply for other services from free school meals to emergency assistance. They can even assist you with booking medical appointments online and advise on how to improve your digital skills.

BetterOff in Salford

Whether you’re worried about paying your council tax or business rates bill, need support with getting online, housing, health or wellbeing, chat in confidence with a BetterOff advisor face to face in a Gateway. You can also use the BetterOff website to check benefit entitlement, apply for Universal Credit and search for jobs and childcare.

Salford Citizens Advice

Salford Citizens Advice provide free, confidential and impartial advice to residents of Salford whether you are facing a crisis or just considering your options. The service can assist you with all sorts of issues, including money, benefits, housing or employment problems.

  • Call free on 0808 278 7802 between 9am and 4pm Monday to Friday or 0161 850 5053 6pm to 9pm every day.
  • Universal Credit advisors are available free on 0800 144 8444 Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm.
  • Advisors are also available at Pendleton and Eccles Gateways on Mondays and Wednesdays 9am to 2pm, Walkden Gateway on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 9am to 2pm, Cadishead library on Tuesdays from 10am to 12.30pm and the Broughton Hub on Wednesdays from 9.30am to 3pm.
