Notice is hereby given that on 7 April 2026 Salford City Council made the following Orders under Sections 9 and 10 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.
The effect of the Orders, is to introduce on an experimental basis for a period of up to 18 months the following:
City of Salford (Grosvenor Road Primary School) (Experimental) (Prohibition of Driving During School Term Time) (Except Cycles and Permit Holders) Order 2026
The effect of the Order will be to introduce Experimental Prohibition of Driving Monday to Friday 8am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 3.45pm on:
Parkgate Drive
- for its entire length. Heathfield Drive – for its entire length. Collingwood Drive – for its entire length.
The following properties will be eligible to apply for parking permits:
- 1 to 18 Parkgate Drive Swinton Manchester M27 5LN. 1 to 28 Heathfield Drive Swinton Manchester M27 5LH.
- 1 to 26 Collingwood Drive Swinton Manchester M27 5LF.

The effect of the Order will be to introduce the following restrictions. Experimental No Waiting at any time on:
Parkgate Drive
- Both sides from eastern extended kerbline of Barton Road for a distance of 10 metres in an easterly direction.
Barton Road
- East side, from a point 10 metres north from the northern extended kerbline of Parkgate Drive to a point 10 metres south from the southern extended kerbline of Parkgate Drive.
Lawnswood Park Road
- Both sides from eastern extended kerbline of Barton Road for a distance of 10 metres in an easterly direction.
Barton Road
- East side, from a point 10 metres north from the northern extended kerbline of Lawnswood Park Road to a point 10 metres south from the southern extended kerbline of Lawnswood Park Road.
Ashdown Drive
- Both sides from western extended kerbline of Barton Road for a distance of 10 metres in a westerly direction.
Barton Road
- West side, from a point 10 metres north from the northern extended kerbline of Ashdown Drive to a point 10 metres south from the southern extended kerbline of Ashdown Drive.
Carisbrook Drive
- Both sides from western extended kerbline of Barton Road for a distance of 10 metres in a westerly direction.
Lawnswood Drive
- Both sides from eastern extended kerbline of Barton Road for a distance of 10 metres in an easterly direction.
Barton Road
- Both sides from a point 10 metres north from the northern extended kerbline of Carisbrook Drive to a point 10 metres south from the southern extended kerbline of Lawnswood Drive.
Sevenoaks Drive
- Both sides from western extended kerbline of Barton Road for a distance of 10 metres in a westerly direction.
White Swallows Road
- Both sides from eastern extended kerbline of Barton Road for a distance of 10 metres in an easterly direction.
Barton Road
- Both sides from a point 10 metres north from the northern extended kerbline of Sevenoaks Drive to a point 10 metres south from the southern extended kerbline of White Swallows Road.
Wingfield Drive
- Both sides from western extended kerbline of Barton Road at the junction with A580 East Lancashire Road for a distance of 10 metres in a westerly direction.
Woodstock Drive
- Both sides from eastern extended kerbline of Barton Road at the junction with A580 East Lancashire Road for a distance of 10 metres in an easterly direction.
Barton Road
- Both sides from a point 10 metres north from the northern extended kerbline of Wingfield Drive to its junction with A580 East Lancashire Road.
Experimental Restriction of waiting Monday to Friday 8am to 9.30am and 2.30pm to 3.45pm on:
Grosvenor Road
- West and north side, from a point 15 metres south west from the south western extended kerbline of Manchester Road for a distance of 98 metres.
Experimental No Loading/Unloading on:
Parkgate Drive
- Both sides from eastern extended kerbline of Barton Road for a distance of 10 metres in an easterly direction.
Baron Road
- East side, from a point 10 metres north from the northern extended kerbline of Parkgate Drive to a point 10 metres south from the southern extended kerbline of Parkgate Drive.
City of Salford (Parkgate Drive and Grosvenor Road, (Experimental) (No Stopping on School Entrance Markings) Order 2026
The effect of the Order will be to introduce Experimental No Stopping on School Entrance Markings Monday to Friday, 8am to 5pm on:
Grosvenor Road Primary School – Parkgate Drive
- Both sides from its cul-de-sac end for a distance of 13.5 metres in a westerly direction (including the cul-de-sac).
Grosvenor Road
- South west side from a point 81 metres south west and west (measured along inside of the bend) for a distance of 32 metres.
Existing restrictions will be suspended for the duration of the Experimental Orders. The Orders will come into operation on 20 April 2026. Copies of the Orders together with a plan showing the roads to which they relate and a Statement of the council's Reasons for making the Orders may be inspected at Swinton Gateway, 100 Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 6BP, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm to Fri inclusive. Alternatively, copies of the documentation may be requested via the email phlegal@manchester.gov.uk or the postal addresses below.
The council will be considering in due course whether the provisions of the Orders should be continued in force indefinitely. Within a period of six months from the coming into force of the Orders or if the Orders are subsequently varied or amended from the coming into force of the variation or modification (whichever is the latter) any person may object to the indefinite continuation of the provisions of the Order.
Any person wishing to object should submit their grounds of objection in writing to phlegal@manchester.gov.uk or the address below no later than 20 October 2026. Any person who wishes to question the validity of the Orders or of any provision contained in them on the grounds that they are not within the powers conferred by the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or on the grounds that any requirement of that Act or of any instrument made under it have not been complied with in relation to the Order may within six weeks from 7 April 2026 apply to the High Court for such purpose, quoting reference L/GS/SCC006/01369.
