Introduction of 20 mile per hour speed limit order 2016

Notice is hereby given that Salford City Council proposes to make an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011.

The order shall be to prohibit any person from driving any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 20 miles per hour on the following roads for their entire length unless otherwise stated:

  • Blantyre Street, Boothby Road, Browning Road, Burns Avenue, Byron Avenue, Canonsway, Deansway, Heywood Street between Deansway and Lower Sutherland Street, Kingsley Road, Lower Sutherland Street, Milton Road, Reginald Street, Shakespeare Road, Shelley Road, Stevenson Road, Tennyson Road, Verne Avenue, Wenlock Street and Wordsworth Road

The order will contain exceptions for a vehicle if used for naval, military, or air force purposes.

A copy of the proposed order, together with plans of the area and a statement of the council's reasons for proposing to make the order, may be examined at Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA, between 8.30am and 5.00pm from Monday to Friday inclusive.
