Bowker Street/Crabtree Close

Notice is hereby given that Salford City Council proposes to make the following orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011, the Highways Act 1980 - section 90a and the Highways (Road Humps) Regulations 1999. 

No waiting at any time

The effect of the order will be to introduce No Waiting at Any Time on:

  • Bowker Street - western side, from its junction with the north westerly kerbline (projected) of Crabtree Close, for a distance of ten metres in a north westerly direction. Western side, from its junction with the south easterly kerbline (projected) of Crabtree Close, for a distance of ten metres in a south easterly direction.
  • Crabtree Close - both sides, from its junction with the south westerly kerbline (projected) of Bowker Street, for a distance of ten metres in a south westerly direction. South west side, from a distance of 45.7 metres from its junction with the south westerly kerbline (projected) of Bowker Street for a distance of 20 metres in south westerly, then northerly direction around the cul-de-sac end. North west side, from a distance of 25.5 metres from its junction with the south westerly kerbline (projected) of Bowker Street for a distance of 14.3 metres in south westerly then northerly direction.

Introduction of 20mph speed limit zone

The order shall be to prohibit any person from driving any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 20mph on the following roads for their entire length unless otherwise stated:

  • Crabtree Close, from its junction with Bowker Street to its cul-de-sac end.

Proposed raised traffic calming features

Salford City Council proposes to construct a raised junction table in the length of road specified in the schedule below. If no objections are received, the raised junction table will be constructed on the lengths of road as detailed in the schedule below after 17 August 2017. 

Schedule

Raised junction table – 75mm high (+/- 15 mm), and gradients to steeper than 1:15

The extent of the raised junction table is as follows:

  • Bowker Street – at its junction with Crabtree Close.  

A copy of the proposed orders, a plan of the area and statement of the council's reasons for proposing to make the order may be examined at Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA, 8.30am to 5pm Monday to Fridays.
