Dated: 21 November 2024

Schedule

Proposed Road Humps – 75mm high (+/- 15 mm), 3.7m in length and the full width of the carriageway (less 200mm – 300mm either side for drainage channel). The midpoint of the crossing is Located: Outside 15 / 13 Crosby Avenue, and 31.2 metres north of northern extended kerbline of Sprong Clough Avenue to the centre of the road hump.

Statement of Reasons

The proposals for the restrictions on the junction of Crosby Avenue with Spring Clough Avenue, are to as far as possible ensure a safe access and egress to the development is maintained at all times. Additionally, the proposed restrictions in the turning head and along the western side of the development area, are to ensure as far as possible that service and other vehicles have the ability to turn round safely. Without the need to reverse long distances which is a hazard due to the much-reduced visibility for drivers to see and be seen.

As such the TRO is essential to maintain safe access and egress for all vehicles pedestrians and cyclists and allow vehicles to turn round in the Cul-de-sac end and exit in a forward gear.

The provision of a single road hump is to as far as possible ensure vehicles travel at an appropriate speed along Crosby Avenue, which is already covered by a 20mph speed limit.
