Gerald Road, Park Lane and Winchester Road

Notice is hereby given that Salford City Council proposes to make an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The effect of the order will be to establish three bicycle parking places on the following lengths of road:

Gerald Road, Irwell

  • South side from a point 13.5 metres west of the western extended kerbline of Blanford Road for a distance of 2.6 metres in a westerly direction

Park Lane, Claremont

  • North west side from a point 12.3 metres south west of the south western extended kerbline of New Herbert Street, for a distance of 2.6 metres in a south westerly direction

Winchester Road, Weaste and Seedley

  • West side from a point 14.7 metres south of the southern extended kerbline of Hayfield Road for a distance of 2.6 metres in a southerly direction – all with a width of two metres.

The bicycle parking places will be in the form of covered, lockable storage units known as ‘bike hangars’, providing places for six bicycles in each bike
hangar.

Residents may apply to the council for scheme membership to permit the storage of bicycles that are in regular use. Scheme members will be issued with a key to access the bike hangars. The charges associated with the scheme are:

  • Annual scheme membership: £40 (reduced to £20 for year 2019/2020)
  • Key deposit: £25 (payable in advance)

Fees will also be charged for replacement keys and ‘call-out’, in the event of a key being lost.

A copy of the scheme’s terms and conditions are on deposit with documents referred to below and are also available from the council.

A copy of the proposed order together with the plan and a statement of the council's reasons for proposing to make the order may be examined at Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA, between 8.30am and 4.30pm from Monday to Friday.

If you wish to object to the proposed order you should send the grounds of your objection in writing by 12 April 2019 (quoting ref L/TG/OUT1093/703).
