Overdale

Salford City Council proposes to make the following orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The titles and effect of the proposed orders will be as follows.

Proposed no waiting at any time on:

Barton Rd, Swinton South:

  • West side, from a point 15m northern extended kerbline of Overdale to a point 15m southern extended kerbline of Overdale in a south east direction.

Overdale, Swinton South:

  • North side, from the west extended kerbline of Barton Road 15m in a west direction.
  • South side, from the west extended kerbline of Barton Road 101m in a south west direction.
  • North side, from a point 119.5m south west extended kerbline of Barton Road  61.5m in a south west direction.
  • South side, from a point 77m south west extended kerbline of Barton Road 100.4m in a south west direction. 

Footway conversion to a shared use, unsegregated footway/cycle track 

The following section of footway are to be converted to cycle tracks under Section 65(1) of the Highway Act 1980:

Overdale:

  • North west side, from a point 136 metres south of south eastern extended kerbline of Barton Road for a distance of 37.5m in a south westerly direction with a minimum width 2.5 metres.

Proposed zebra crossing

Overdale:

  • The mid-point of the crossing will be located 138.5 metres south of the south western kerbline of Barton Road. The zebra crossing will be 5.5 metres in width, 7.5 metres in length with zig–zags extending to 21 metres north east and 17 metres south west of the mid-point of the crossing.

Existing orders are to be amended to be consistent with the above proposals.

Any reference in this order to any road, street and or other location shall be construed to the name herein and any subsequent name thereafter.

Copies of the proposed orders together with the plans and a statement of the council's reasons for proposing to make the Orders may be examined at Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA, between 8.30am and 4.30pm Mondays to Fridays (due to the COVID-19 restrictions please ensure that the Civic Centre is open before attending).

  • Overdale, Swinton South, north side, from a point 119.5 metres south western extended kerbline of Barton Road for a distance of 61.5 metres in a south westerly direction.
  • Overdale, Swinton South, south side, from a point 77 metres south western extended kerbline of Barton Road for a distance of 100.4 metres in a south westerly direction.
