Ralli Quays

Salford City Council proposes for an order under Section 116 of the Highways Act 1980. The order is for authorising the stopping-up of the section of highway specified in the schedule below on the grounds that it is unnecessary. The order will be applied for at the Magistrates’ Court sitting at the Court House, Crown Square, Manchester on Thursday 13 August 2020 at 9.45am.

The footpath begins at the east end of the Ralli Quays building (point A) and is accessed from Stanley Street adjacent to the footbridge across the River Irwell to Spinningfields. It descends towards the river via a series of steps in a mostly south westerly direction before ascending via steps where it terminates at (point B).

The footpath is approximately 207 metres in length with a width varying from 1.2 metres to 6.5 metres and is comprised of a series of steps and brick terraces.

A copy of the proposed order, a plan and statement of the council's reasons for proposing to make the above order may be examined at Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA, 9am to 4.30pm Monday to Friday (due to the COVID-19 restrictions, please ensure that the council office is open before attending).

Alternatively, copies of the documentation may be viewed at Unity House, Swinton, M27 5FJ. The plan will be displayed to the left of the main (and only public) entrance to the building, adjacent to the public car park at the Civic Centre. If you are unable to attend, a copy of the plan may be requested (without payment) by emailing phlegal@manchester.gov.uk or writing to the address at the end of this notice. Any person intending to attend the hearing of the application is requested to inform me in writing to Fiona Ledden, City Solicitor: PO Box 532, Town Hall, Manchester, M60 2LA or email phlegal@manchester.gov.uk, quoting reference L/GS/OUT1094/309 before the date of the hearing.
