Introduction of 20 mph Speed Limit Zone

Notice is hereby given that Salford City Council proposes to make an order under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011.

The effect of the proposed order will be to prohibit any person from driving any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 20mph on the following roads for their entire length, unless otherwise stated: 

  • Greenleach Lane – from a distance of 25 metres of its junction with the eastern kerbline of Kempnough Hall Road to a point 52 metres south of Manthorpe Avenue
  • Old Clough Lane – from its junction with the A580 East Lancashire Road to Greenleach Lane
  • Meadowgate
  • The Nook
  • The Coppice
  • Moorfield
  • Roe Green
  • Wesley Drive
  • Crawford Avenue
  • Blandford Avenue
  • Lyon Grove
  • Lyndene Avenue
  • Mayhill Drive
  • Wardleyhall Lane
  • Roe Green Avenue
  • Glen Avenue
  • Egerton Court – from its junction with Glen Avenue to the car park.
  • Mulgrave Road
  • Manthorpe Avenue
  • Parrfield Road
  • Summerfield Road
  • Starkie Street
  • Forrester Street

The order will contain exceptions for a vehicle if used for naval, military, or air force purposes.

A copy of the proposed order, together with plans of the area and a statement of the council's reasons for proposing to make the order, may be examined at Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA, between 8.30am and 5pm, Monday to Friday inclusive.
