Stanwell Road

Notice is hereby given that Salford City Council proposes to make the following orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and the Road Traffic Exemptions (Special Forces) (Variation and Amendment) Regulations 2011. The titles and effects of the orders are as follows: 

Proposed no waiting at any time on:

  • Shaftesbury Road - west side, from its junction with the northerly kerbline of Salisbury Road for a distance of 5m in a northerly direction. West side, from its junction with the southerly kerbline of Salisbury Road for a distance of 5m in a southerly direction.
  • Salisbury Road - both sides, from its junction with the westerly kerbline of Shaftesbury Road for a distance of 5m in a westerly direction.

Proposed no waiting on Monday to Friday between 10am and 3pm on:

  • Stanwell Road - N side, from a point 180.56m south eart of the south eastern extended kerbline of Partington Lane for a distance of 133.3m in a south easterly direction to the cul-de-sac end.

Proposed no waiting on Monday to Friday between 8am and 5pm on:

  • Stanwell Road - north side, from a point 93.3m south east of the south eastern extended kerbline of Partington Lane for a distance of 43.7m in a south easterly direction.
  • Stanwell Road - south side, from its junction with the north westerly kerbline of Shaftesbury Road, for a distance of 10m in a north westerly direction. South side, from its junction with the south easterly kerbline of Shaftesbury Road, for a distance of 10m in a south easterly direction.
  • Shaftesbury Road - both sides, from the junction with the southerly kerbline of Stanwell Road for a distance of 5m in a southerly direction.

Prohibition of stopping outside school entrance 

The above order shall prohibit any vehicle from stopping outside The New Deans Primary School, Swinton between the hours of 8am to 5pm - Stanwell Road, north side from a point 137m south east of the south eastern extended kerbline of Partington Lane for a distance of 43.56m in a south easterly direction.   

Introduction of 20 mph speed limit

The above order shall be to prohibit any person from driving any motor vehicle at a speed exceeding 20 mph on the following roads for their entire length unless otherwise stated:

  • Stanwell Road
  • Moor Street
  • Chester Street
  • Shaftesbury Road
  • Salisbury Road
  • Wayfarers Way
  • Waggoners Court
  • Gorsefield Drive
  • Thornfield Drive
  • Albermarle Road

Existing orders are to be amended so as to be consistent with the proposals. Copies of the proposed orders, plans of the area and statement of the council's reasons for proposing to make the above orders may be examined at Salford Civic Centre, Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 5DA, between 8.30am and 5pm from Monday to Friday.
