Proposed Toucan Crossing On A5063 Trafford Road

NOTICE is hereby given that council of the city of Salford, in exercise of its powers under section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers , proposes to construct a signal controlled (Toucan) crossing on A5063 Trafford Road, North and Southbound Carriageway. The mid-point of the crossing will be located opposite western cul-de-sac end of Hulton Street.

The Toucan Crossings will be 7.1 metres in width, 5.4 metres in length with zig – zags extending to 11.6 metres north and 8.1 metres south of the mid-point of the crossing.

Notice is hereby given that the council of the city of Salford proposes to make the following orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

The titles and effect of the proposed orders will be as follows:

Prohibition of driving for vehicles travelling:

  1. in a west direction only on Goodiers Drive from Trafford Road to a point 15m in an east direction
  2. in both directions on Hulton Street at a point 7.7m east from the eastern extended kerbline of A5063 Trafford Road
  3. in both directions on Jennings Avenue at a point 15m east from the eastern extended kerbline of A5063 Trafford Road
  4. in both directions on Rowland Street at this junction interface with A5063 Trafford Road

City Of Salford (A5063 Trafford Road, Salford) (Red Route Clearway With Exemption For Local Buses) Order 2021

Red route clearway no stopping except for local buses on:

  • A5063 Trafford Road dual carriageway from the Salford Boundary at Manchester Ship Canal to M602/A57/A5063 southern outer ring roundabout.
  • Goodiers Drive from its junction with A5063 Trafford Road for 12m in an east direction.
  • Broadway from its junction with A5063 Trafford Road for 64.7m in a west direction.
  • Crowther Avenue from its junction with A5063 Trafford Road for 16.75m in an east direction.
  • Phoebe Street from its junction with A5063 Trafford Road for 15.3m in a west direction.
  • Aubrey Street from its junction with A5063 Trafford Road for 7.3m in a west direction.
  • Archie Street from its junction with A5063 Trafford Road for 21.6m in a west direction.
  • The Quays from its junction with A5063 Trafford Road for 48.1m in a westerly direction.
  • Elmira Way from its junction with A5063 Trafford Road for 14.9m in an easterly direction.
  • Merchants Quay from its junction with A5063 Trafford Road for 25.7m in a westerly direction.
  • Ordsall Lane from its junction with A5063 Trafford Road for 44m in an easterly direction.
  • Clippers Quay from its junction with A5063 Trafford Road for 27.5m in a westerly direction.
  • Trafford Road unnamed road off linking to Colgate Lane from its junction with A5063 Trafford Road for a distance of 19.7m in an easterly direction.
  • Colgate Lane from its junction with A5063 Trafford Road for 13.2m in an easterly direction.

Existing orders are to be amended to be consistent with the above proposals.

Proposed Parallel Zebra Crossing Trafford Road unnamed road linking to Colgate Lane, Salford

Notice is hereby given that council of the city of Salford, in exercise of its powers under section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers, intend to place a new Parallel Zebra Crossing on Trafford Road unnamed road linking to Colgate Lane.

The mid-point of the crossing will be located 44.5 metres north from the extended northern kerbline of Colgate Lane. The Parallel Zebra Crossing will be 6.6 metres in width, 9.3 metres in length with zig–zags extending to 4.5 metres north and 4.5 metres south of the mid-point of the crossing.

Footway conversion to unsegregated shared use

NOTICE is hereby given that the council of the city of Salford proposes to convert the following lengths of existing footway to cycle track use under section 66(4) and 65(1) of the Highways Act 1980. The footways specified below will be converted to unsegregated shared use area for pedestrians and cyclists.

  1. The Quays, Eastbound Carriageway - northern footway a point 18 metres north west from the extended north western kerbline on Furness Quay to A5063 Trafford Road.
  2. The Quays, Northbound Carriageway - from a point 53.4 metres north west of its junction with Waterfront Quay for a distance of 55.4 metres in a north westerly direction.
  3. Broadway - north west footway from a point 36 metres west of the extended western kerbline of A5063 Trafford Road for a distance of 126 metres in a south westerly direction.
  4. Broadway - south western footway from 18 metres north of its north must junction kerbline with King William Street to the extended south eastern kerbline of King Williams Street.
  5. King William Street - north eastern footway from its junction with Broadway for a distance of 15.1 metres in a south easterly direction.
  6. Goodiers Drive - both sides from the extended eastern kerbline of A5063 Trafford Road to the extended western kerbline of Goodiers Drive.
  7. A5063 Trafford Road, Northbound Carriageway - western footway from a point 67.5 metres south from the M602/A57/A5063 southern outer ring roundabout.
  8. A5063 Trafford Road, Southbound Carriageway - eastern footway from a point 43 metres south from the M602/A57/A5063 southern outer ring roundabout.
  9. A5063 Trafford Road Eastern Footway Hulton Street - from a point 13 metres north of the northern kerbline of Hulton Street for a distance of 35 metres in a southerly direction.
  10. A5063 Trafford Road Western Footway Hulton Street - from the northern extended kerbline of Hulton Street for a distance of 31 metres in a southerly direction.
  11. Hulton Street - from its eastern cul-de-sac end to its junction with A5063 Trafford Road.
  12. A5063 Trafford Road Eastern Footway, Jennings Avenue - at its junction interface with A5063 Trafford Road.
  13. Jennings Avenue - from its eastern cul-de-sac end to its junction with A5063 Trafford Road.
  14. A5063 Trafford Road, Western Footway, Rowland Street - at its junction interface with A5063 Trafford Road to a point 7.2 metres in a westerly direction.
  15. Trafford Road unnamed road linking to Colgate Lane, southbound carriageway, eastern footway - from a point 35 metres north of its junction with Colgate Lane for a distance of 27 metres in a northerly direction.
  16. Colgate Lane - north side from its junction with Trafford Road unnamed road linking to Colgate Lane to its junction with A5063 Trafford Road.

The footways specified below will be converted to use for cyclists:

  • A5063 Trafford Road - Western footway from a point 50 metres north from the Salford boundary at Manchester Ship Canal to a point 67.5 metres south from the M602/A57/A5063 southern outer ring roundabout. With a throughout width between 1.5 and 5 metres.
  • A5063 Trafford Road - Eastern footway from a point 16.8 metres north from the extended northern kerbline of Colgate Lane to a point 43 metres south from the M602/A57/A5063 southern outer ring roundabout. With a throughout width between 1.5 and 5 metres.
  • Trafford Road unnamed road linking to Colgate Lane, eastbound carriageway - north side, from its junction with A5063 Trafford Road for a distance of 34 metres in an easterly direction. South side, from its junction with A5063 Trafford Road to a point 42 metres north of the extended northern kerbline of Colgate Lane. With a throughout width between 1.5 and 5 metres.
  • Aubrey Street - southern footway side from a point 15m north west from the extended western kerbline of A5063 Trafford Road to its junction with A5063 Trafford Road. With a throughout width between 1.5 and 5m.
  • Phoebe Street - south side from a point 25 m east from the extended eastern kerbline of A5063 Trafford Road to its junction with A5063 Trafford Road. With a throughout width between 1.5 and 5 metres.
  • Broadway - south east side from a point 122 m south west from the extended western kerbline of A5063 Trafford Road to its junction with A5063 Trafford Road. With a throughout width between 1.5 and 5 m.
  • Broadway - north west side from a point 31 m south west from the extended western kerbline of A5063 Trafford Road to its junction with A5063 Trafford Road. With a throughout width between 1.5 and 5 metres.
