Kara Street area

Salford City Council proposes to make the following Orders under the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984.

City of Salford (Greenland Street and Nanson Street) (Prohibition and Restriction of Waiting) Order 2025

The effect of the Order will be to introduce the following:

Proposed No Waiting At Any Time on: 

Greenland Street 

  • South east side, from a point 10 metres south west of the westerly projected kerbline of Nansen Street, to a point 10 metres north east of the easterly projected kerbline of Nansen Street.
  • South east side, from a point 10 metres south west from the westerly projected kerbline of Norway Street, to a point 10 metres north east of the easterly projected kerbline of Norway Street.

Nansen Street

  • Both sides, from the south easterly projected kerbline of Greenland Street, for a distance of 10 metres in a southerly direction. 

Proposed No Waiting 8am to 5pm Monday to Friday on: 

Greenland Street 

  • North west side, from a point 15 metres south west from the westerly projected kerbline of Langworthy Road, for a distance of 30 metres in a south westerly direction.
  • North west side, from a point 84 metres south west from the westerly projected kerblline of Langworthy Road, for a distance of 43 metres in a south westerly direction. 

City of Salford (Nansen Street, Harmsworth Street and Norway Street) (One Way Traffic) Order 2025

Proposed One Way on: 

Nansen Street

  • Northbound, from its junction with Kara Street, to its junction with Greenland Street. 

Harmsworth Street

  • West and then southbound, from its junction with Nansen Street, to its junction with Kara Street.

Norway Street

  • Northbound, from its junction with Kara Street, to its junction with Greenland Street. 

City of Salford (Greenland Street, Salford) (School Keep Clear Markings) Order 2025. 

Proposed School Keep Clear Markings at: Willow Tree Primary School on: 

Greenland Street

  • North west side, from a point 45 metres south west of the westerly projected kerbline of Langworthy Road, for a distance of 39 metres in a south westerly direction.
  • North west side, from a point 1.5 metres west of the easterly projected kerbline of Norway Street, for a distance of 39 metres in a south westerly direction.

A copy of the Order and plan will be available for inspection at Swinton Gateway, 100 Chorley Road, Swinton, M27 6BP, Monday to Friday 9am to 6pm.
